Ligaya Cullo

Ligaya Cullo is a budding actor-playwright-artist-fairy-princess-mage from Elmhurst, Queens, New York. They are a 12th grade senior at the Kew-Forest School, where they are currently President of the Kew-Forest Drama troupe and Co-President of the Model United Nations Club—evidently, they are a big fan of all things reciting, presenting, and performing!

They have been in four school productions, having played roles as Miranda and Banquo/Macduff in The Tempest and Macbeth, respectively. As a vocalist, they specialize in jazz, frequently singing at seasonal charities, benefits, and other school shows. They are a maker/designer and lover of kitschy, colorful clothes.

Having participated in intensive workshops like the Theatre Development Fund’s Young Playwrights Program and the New York Theater Workshop’s Young Artistic Investigators, working with wonderfully talented and creative playwrights and actors all over New York, Ligaya believes that all art is political; that all art lives within the context of its creation, and wishes to make art that serves as both uncomfortable confrontations and chicken soup for the soul.
