ONE WALL MOVEMENT

Calling residents of Harlem — young and old to join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly day of art making and portrait taking. Meet street artist and muralist N. Carlos J. and have your portrait taken! Maybe your photo will be used for the mural that Carlos will create this summer. Carlos will be on site and lead visitors through a creative painting lesson using one of his original mural designs.

N. Carlos J. is a painter, designer and muralist and the 2023 ONE WALL MOVEMENT Artist. Beginning in June, Carlos will begin the production of a large-scale Harlem-based mural.

ONE WALL MOVEMENT is a public art initiative that centers the voices and talents of muralists, writers, and street artists who self-identify as BIPOC, PGM (People of the Global Majority), women, femme, transgender, nonbinary, and/or gender non-conforming. This spring we welcomed N. Carlos J. as our 2023 ONE WALL MOVEMENT muralist. Over the next three months, Hi-ARTS will support N. Carlos J. in the installation of a large-scale Harlem-based mural.
