Productions

Hi-ARTS has always produced impactful work that speaks to some of the most important social, cultural and political issues that people face. We do this work through our organization and in partnership with key partners and stakeholders. It is our vision that productions move people into both dialogue and action.

Hi-ARTS and National Black Theatre presented the world premiere of The Peculiar Patriot, written and performed by Liza Jessie Peterson and directed by Talvin Wilks. The Peculiar Patriot re-centers the national conversation about the prison industrial complex and mass incarceration around the often unacknowledged destructive impact it has had on women, and by extension, their families and communities.
