The Second Annual Sound of the Underground is a showcase of new works from emerging theater artists. Through the song-to-script portion, two DC-based playwrights are paired with classic DC songs which serve the source of inspiration for new plays. The product is this an amazing evening of theatrical development which expresses the unique voices and experiences of Go-go and Hip Hop artists from the DMV. This year features two new plays inspired by the classics "5' O'Clock" by Nonchalant and "Syced It" by Tabi Bonney. Also, back by popular demand, last year's play by John Johnson's inspired Mambo Sauce's "Welcome to DC" and the playwright Malcolm Pelles' work "The Word" music by JunkYard Band.
